Kapball Safety Guidelines

Kapball is designed to be a fun, lightweight, training-focused game — but like any physical activity, safe play matters. This page gives you everything you need to make sure players enjoy the game with confidence and proper awareness.

Quick Safety Rules (Read Before Playing)

For the safest + best experience:

Play in an open area

Away from cars, windows, walls, and people who aren't playing.

Keep distance

Fielders should stand a safe distance behind or far enough away from the batter to avoid contact with the bat or flying kap.

Supervise kids

Kapball is recommended for ages 8+ with adult supervision.

Use the equipment as intended

No throwing the bat, no hitting objects other than kaps, no swinging near people.

Check your space

Remove obstacles, uneven ground, and anything players might trip on.

Inspect equipment

If the bat or kaps are damaged, cracked, or warped, stop use and replace the parts.

How to Use the Equipment Safely

The Bat

  • Lightweight by design

  • Should be held with two hands

  • Swing only when the area is clear

  • Never point or jab with the bat

The Kaps

  • Ensure the batter is ready before tossing

  • Never throw at face

During Gameplay

  • No swinging if anyone is walking into the play zone

  • Communicate before every pitch

  • Avoid diving in areas with concrete or asphalt

Healthy Play Tips for Kids & Parents

Kapball is physical. Warm-ups help prevent strains.

  • Quick reaction drills

Encourage players to take breaks, drink water, and stop immediately if they feel pain.
